U.S.CRUDE

U.S. crude stocks rose by 5.9 million barrels in the week to Oct. 25, compared with analysts' expectations for an increase of 2.2 million barrels, data from industry group the American Petroleum Institute showed on Tuesday.

BRENT CRUDE

London Brent crude for December delivery was down 31 cents at $108.70 a barrel, after finishing 60 cents lower on Tuesday.

NYMEX CRUDE

NYMEX crude for December delivery was down 57 cents at $97.63 a barrel by 0020 GMT, after settling 48 cents lower on Tuesday.

Oil slips below $109 on Libya export hopes; Fed outcome eyed

LME COPPER

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange CMCU3 eased 0.1 percent to $7,191.25 a tonne by 0132 GMT, well below the one-month high of $7,350 touched on October 22.

COPPER

London copper was largely unchanged on Wednesday, trading well below last week's one-month high on a weaker fundamental outlook as investors await clues on monetary policy from the U.S. Federal Reserve.

PLATINUM

Platinum was down 1.1 percent to $1,454.50 an ounce

SILVER

Among other precious metals, silver eased 10 cents to $22.46 an ounce.

GOLD

Gold was treading water below five-week highs on Wednesday, as investors awaited the end of a Federal Reserve policy meeting to gauge the bank's stimulus outlook.

U.S.GOLD

U.S. gold futures for December delivery settled down $6.70 an ounce at $1,345.50, with volume about 15 percent below its 30-day average, preliminary Reuters data showed.

SPOT GOLD

Spot gold eased 0.05 percent to $1,343.06 an ounce by 0019 GMT. The metal fell 0.6 percent on Tuesday after the dollar index rose to one-week highs as traders booked profits.

U.S.MARKET UPDATE

The Dow and S&P 500 ended at record highs on Tuesday after economic data supported views that the Federal Reserve would keep its stimulus intact for several months and IBM rallied after the company announced a stock buyback. IBM gave the biggest boost to the Dow, which led the day’s gains.
The stock, which also helped drive the S&P 500′s advance, jumped 2.7 percent to $182.12 after the company’s board of directors approved another $15 billion for stock buybacks.

ASIAN STOCKS

Asian shares sagged and the dollar stayed just above its recent lows on Tuesday, as investors awaited confirmation the U.S. Federal Reserve will stay the course with stimulus at this week's policy meeting.

U.S.TREASURIES

Prices for U.S. Treasuries dipped on Monday as investors made room for this week's $96 billion in longer-dated government debt supply, with yields hovering near three-month lows.

FTSE

Britain's blue chip share index steadied on Monday after hitting a five-month high, stalling just above the key 6,700 points level as a mixed crop of earnings led to profit taking and bad weather curbed activity.

NIKKEI

Japan's Nikkei stock average gave up 0.7 percent, shrugging off data showing consumer spending in Japan jumped in September as shoppers made purchases now before a sales tax increase next year.

DOLLAR

The dollar index was steady at 79.344 after drifting up 0.2 percent on Monday. However, it remained not far off Friday's 78.998 - a low not seen since Feb. 1.

EURO

The euro was down about 0.1 percent at $1.3773, but still not far from Friday's high of $1.3832, its highest level since November 2011.

NYMEX CRUDE

NYMEX crude for December delivery was down 38 cents at $98.30 a barrel by 0034 GMT, after settling up 83 cents at $98.68 on Monday.

U.S.CRUDE

U.S. crude futures edged down towards $98 a barrel on Tuesday ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy-setting meeting, but held within sight of a one-week high as a sharp drop in Libyan oil exports rekindled worries over supply.

BRENT CRUDE

London Brent crude for December delivery was down 46 cents at $109.15 a barrel, after settling up $2.68.
