The euro rose 0.1
percent to 142.02 yen after rising as high as 142.09 yen, its highest since
October 2008. Against the dollar, the euro rose 0.1 percent to $1.3758, after
rising as high as $1.3768 and moving toward its two-year peak of $1.3833 set in
October.
