SPOT GOLD
Spot gold XAU= was up 1.5 percent at $1,093.62 an
ounce at 2:55 p.m. EST (1955 GMT), off a peak of $1,095.30, its highest
since Nov. 16. U.S. gold futures GCv1 for February delivery settled up
1.3 percent at $1,091.90 an ounce prior to the release of the minutes.
